Capital Campaign
The Midwest Theater Capital Campaign is specifically
for those patrons who wish to contribute exclusively to the building/maintenance
fund for the Midwest Theater building.
Scottsbluff's Midwest Theater is listed on the
National Register of Historic Places. Built in 1946 the Midwest
Theater was designed in Art Moderne style and served for decades
as one of the centers of social life in hte North Platte Valley.
The theater closed in 1996, but in its 50 years it served as the
birthplace of chreished memories--first movies, first dates, first
jobs, propsals, glimpses of stars and far-away places. . . shining
from the silver screen.
The theater was donated to Oregon Trail Community
Foundation. Friends of the Midwest Theater was organized to address
specific needs and special challenges of the theater. Donations
are needed to keep the theater alive and well and any amount that
you can contribute to the Capital Campaign fund will be used only
for building improvements and repairs.
