Printmaking:
drypoint on plexi workshop
Date: May 16: 6-8pm, May 17: 11am-4pm
(one workshop over 2 days)
Ages: Adults
Class size: 2 min. 16 max.
Description: Participants will learn drypoint printmaking techniques while producing a series of hand pulled prints using an etching press.

Drawing
Date: June 2 - 6
Time: 9 - 10am
Ages: Students entering Grades 3-6.
Class size: 4 min., 10 max.
Description: Students will explore the basic elements of drawing: line, shape, texture, color, value and space through fun projects. We will learn about shapes and shading; learn how to look at things as an artist and draw what you see more accurately; and more.

Pastel
Date: June 2 - 6

Ages: Students entering Grades 3-6.
Class size: 3 min., 10 max.
Description: We will be working with different pastel techniques through the use of fun projects. We will be learning how to shade, blend, and application. This class will be good experience for anyone whether you are a beginner or expert.

Art Sampler
Date: June 2 - 6

Description: Students will sample a variety of art media each day to produce an exciting final project!

Haiku – Word Pictures
and Illustrating
Date: June 9 - 12
Time: 10 - 11:30am
Ages: Students entering Grades 4 - 6.
Class size: 4 min. 8 max.
Description: Haiku is a short, descriptive poem written in a form taken from the Japanese culture. The 3 line poem forms word pictures. Each day students will illustrate their poem with watercolor paintings.

A Way of Being
With Clay
Date: June 16 - 19, and 23 – 26
(two week class)
Time: 10 - 11:15am
Ages: Students entering Grades 2-4.
Class size: 4 min. 8 max.
Description: Students will learn the basic techniques of hand building including pinch, coil, and slab methods. They will also learn to combine methods to create various forms such as creatures, toad forts, castles, and lidded boxes. A selection of their work will be bisque fired.

Sketch It
Date: June 30 – July 2
Time: 4-6pm
Ages: Adults
Class size: 4 min., 8 max.
Description: Explore the value of thumbnail sketches, value sketches, journal sketches and color sketches before you paint. Participants develop their own sketching plan and learn to transfer sketches to paintings. Participants may do some outdoor sketching.
**Please supply your own sketch pad (no larger than 8”x10”) and graphite pencils.

Creative Writing
for Kids

Description: Students will learn creative exercises to enhance writing abilities and stretch their imaginations.

Knitter’s Kamp
Date: July 18
Time: 10am – 4pm
Ages: 8 and up
Class size: 4 min., 8 max.
Description: This one day workshop is where kids get started on a lifetime of knitting fun! In just one day they will learn to cast-on, knit, purl, and bind off. If they already know the basics, they will have the opportunity to take their knitting to the next level and meet other kids who love to knit. We will liven things up with knitting related games and activities that teach as well as entertain. They will need to bring a pair of needles and a skein of yarn – or supplies can be purchased the day of the class.

Description: This is a day not to be missed! Wether you are an absolute beginner, a long-time knitter, or somewhere in between, this workshop has something for everyone! You can become a knitter in just one class! There will also be lots of tips, techniques, and project ideas to inspire you and spark your creativity. Bring a pair of needles and a yarn/fiber you are excited about and we’ll take it from there!
